Random useless numbers

Posted by Comicus on May 25, 2010

A little bored so I thought I would liter this post with random useless numbers that maybe only I care about.

1 Million Seconds = about 11.5 Days

1 Billion Seconds = about 32 Years

1 Trillion Seconds = about 32,000 Years

If you counted 24 hours a day, it would take you over 30,000 years to reach one Trillion!

That kind of helps you understand the magnitude of the Trillions of dollars spent by the United States Government bailing out Banks, Investment firms, Federal Mortgage lenders and General Motors along with giving Chrysler away.

299,792,458 m/s = The Speed of Light Exact which is represented by the letter C as in  Einstein’s Theory of Relativity E = mc2

Which should now be written to denote speed of light in a vacuum as E = mc02

9,460,730,472,580 km = How far you would travel in 1 year at the speed of light!

Just a C – hair less than 10 Trillion km. Multiply that number by 4.37 (4.37 Light years or 1.34 parsecs)  which is (41,343,392,165,174.6km) and that’s how close the closest star (Alpha Centauri) is to the Planet Earth.

Not too likely that aliens are visiting our Planet!  Just an observation on my part. You can believe whatever you want!

6,910,364,791 = Population of the world (est.) May 14, 2010

1,338,612,968= Population of China est. 2009 roughly 20% of the worlds population

1,181,534,673 = Population of India as of May 14, 2010 roughly 17% of the worlds population

3,879,000,000 = Population of Asia (est.) Over half the worlds population lives in Asia.

309,270,823 = Population of the United States of America as of May 14, 2010 every minute is + 5 people

1 out of every 4233 people in Japan commits Suicide.

Over 30,000 people every year for the last 12 years.

I think that figure says a lot to say the least.

1 in a Million

When I was younger that had some significance to it. It sounded special.

Special really? Think about it, if you are from America 1 in a Million means there are 309 people just like you.

If you are from China then 1 in a Million means there are 1338.6 people just like you. The .6 is a midget but they are just like you only shorter.

1 in a Million doesn’t sound so special now does it?
